GO WEST,
YOUNG LADY

West Texas is a dream. The perfect place to escape for a refresh, search for inspiration, or just a road trip getaway. It’s easy to get lost in thought while meandering through this vast, magical, desert oasis surrounded by towering mountain ranges, roving hawks, electric-purple prickly pears, scurrying wildlife, and big, bright stars – all deep in the heart of Texas.

My favorite parts of West Texas are Marfa, Alpine, Marathon, Fort Davis, Balmorhea, Terlingua, and Big Bend. In my opinion, no real adventure is complete without leisurely stops through multiple destinations along the way – I’m a firm believer in the art of slow travel. Therefore, I’ve compiled this lengthy guide to be digested in its entirety. Of course, you’re more than welcome to hop, skip and jump around as you please.

I hope it inspires you to Go West, my friend.

An art-filled oasis, a haunted hotel and cowboy culture splashed across a picturesque valley, in the wild, wild, West.

2

FORT DAVIS

Home to the McDonald Observatory, where the stars at night shine bigger and brighter.

3

TERLINGUA & BIG BEND

I ain’t afraid of no ghosts.

A 1.3 acre, 3.5 million gallon freshwater oasis in the middle of the high desert.
